A reflection on my second year college, first semester study method

My study method last semester was not structured. I did not review as hard and as much as I would during a face to face class. I focused on accomplishing assignments and projects - I studied for these the most compared to studying for exams or quizzes. In this reflection, I want to answer the following questions:

1. How did I study for my requirements?

2. How did I study for my exams?

3. Which subjects did I study for?

4. How did I adjust my study method based on the subject at hand or task at hand?

5. Did I learn last semester? How so?

To answer the first question, I mostly referred to our lectures and pdfs whenever I studied for requirements. If I did not understand the lesson, or if I felt like there was something missing, I would refer to Google or other internet sources. I find journals and online books more reliable. I use b-ok.org to download books and sci-hub.tw to open journals or research papers that are not available to the public.

In response to the second question, I did not study for most of my exams. I mostly relied on my previous activities or requirements. This is also one of the reasons why I am grateful for professors who give us a lot of tasks like Sir Pajimna, Sir Renson, Ma'am Bartolome, Ma'am Pablo, Ma'am Dela Rosa, Ma'am Torio and Sir Omar.

For exams, I only studied for subjects which required computation or required concepts. Specifically, these were PHA 6113 Physical Pharmacy and PHA 6115 Organic Medicinal Chemistry.

My study method varied depending on the requirement. For instance, when the requirement was a journal critique, I would outline the journal and take note of the important details. For analysis types of requirements, I created a table or a diagram which showed the relationship of material or the concepts. For calculation activities, I listed all the formula needed along with the steps on how to solve the problem before starting the activity. For infographic requirements, I listed the methods or the flow first before proceeding to the layout and design. For home-based experiments, I listed the steps of the experiment and took note of the things that I need to document. I also documented everything even if they were not indicated. I would suggest taking a video and pictures because that would be more convenient. For dance projects, it was easier to have another person choreograph while I assist. Animated requirements are also more appreciated when there is a background music. I also noticed that creating animated requirements are easier during the lockdown compared to face to face classes. I find the mobile app InShot to be a reliable video editing tool. For infographics, I use either Canva or MS Powerpoint. For animated projects, I prefer using MS Powerpoint because of the variety of effects available.

To answer the last question, I believe I did. I also think that I am learning more now compared to my face to face class because I am learning from activities, thus the lessons are stored in my long-term memory. Unlike during face to face classes where I mainly memorized and the lessons were only stored in my short term memory.
